Overview
UKRI provides funding to UK universities and eligible research organisations to cover fees and living costs of postgraduate research students, primarily those working towards a PhD. Students apply through the research organisation where they wish to study, not directly to UKRI. Funding for full-time studentships usually lasts between three and four years, with flexible arrangements also available.
