The Global Korea Scholarship (GKS) is a Korean Government program designed to provide international students with opportunities to study at higher education institutions in Korea for graduate (Master's and Doctoral) studies, enhancing international education exchange and mutual friendship between Korea and participating countries. Korea University serves as a designated host institution.

Applicants and their parents must be citizens of countries listed in the application guideline
Korean citizens and Koreans holding dual citizenship are not eligible
Applicants must be under age 40 as of September 1st of the inviting year (exception: academic professors from ODA recipient countries under 45)
Must hold a Bachelor's degree (for Master's) or Master's degree (for Doctoral), or be expected to graduate by July 31st, 2026
Overall CGPA must be 80% or higher (90% or above for GKS scholars reapplying)
Applicants who graduated from a Korean university are not eligible (exception: overseas adoptees, former GKS scholars)

Monthly allowance of 1,000,000 KRW
Research allowance: 210,000 KRW (humanities/social sciences) or 240,000 KRW (natural/mechanic sciences)
Settlement allowance of 200,000 KRW upon arrival
Full language training fee coverage
Full tuition coverage (admission fees waived by host institution, tuition covered by NIIED and university)
